The world beyond my window is not like this.
There is nothing stirring in the white cold sky, and there is no sign of my beloved red umbrella who seems to have flown quite simply off the face of this wintery earth. But I am on my little perch—
watching the sky for tiny omens—grateful for my warm, if imperfect, perch.
